Soon after the Top Gear ‘fracas’ we were disappointed to hear the last three episodes were to be pulled. For the petrol heads amongst us we were obviously upset that the BBC had decided to take such action and unbeknown to the general public, the next scheduled programme was to feature one of our telehandlers. We remain hopeful that all three remaining episodes will be aiared in the near future. We can’t wait to see our JCB 550-80 picking up the cherised wheels of Clarkson, Hammond & May and tipping them over the side of a local quarry near Sevenoaks. Let’s hope it’s not too long before we can all enjoy their shenanigans ……..
Back at HQ we have taken delivery of our new Ford Fiesta ECOnetic vans. These are to replace our existing Fiestas that have served our operators and service personnel over recent years. They have been reliable economical and generaly frugal on the whole cost of ownership-it was a ‘no brainer’ to reinvest in a similar product.
With start stop technology and low rolling resistant tyres we are hopeful of achieving 85mpg from the 1.5 litre turbo charged diesel engine. In recognition of our drivers we have added a few creature comforts such as heated seats, bluetooth technology for hands free telephone and seamless streaming of music. A standard fitment is the Aston Martin look-a-like Grille and together with our head turning graphics we wish our drivers enjoyable and economical motoring for the foreseeable miles ahead.
